NMFS Opens Pacific Ocean Perchin the Central GOA

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening the directed Pacific ocean perch fishery in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska management area. This opening is effective at 12 noon, Alaska local time, August 6, 1999, according to Steven Pennoyer, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully utilize the total allowable catch of Pacific ocean perch in this area. Other closures remain in full force and effect.

This information bulletin provides notice that a regulatory change has occurred. Do not rely upon it to guide you in complying with the regulatory change.
