Project Level Analysis of Treatment Alternatives

     PLATA Updates:

Program Updates: Version 1.2.1 (file date March 2008) should be installed. This version fixes several errors.

  To determine which version you have, start PLATA and choose 'About' on the first screen.  The version number is located near the top of the screen.  If you have an earlier version, please click here; choose 'save to disk' and save the file in the plata folder.  Go ahead and overwrite the existing file of the same name (plata_v1.exe).

Northern Region Transactions Evidence Model Update Instructions:

 
     Each time the Regional appraisal specialist updates the Northern Region appraisal models, we will provide updates that you can download and install in your PLATA Area Default for your National Forest.

DOWNLOAD Instructions:   Right -Click on the appropriate model name and date.  Select 'save target as' and save the zip file into your PLATA\import folder. Sometimes if you click on a zip file, it will attempt to open the file without giving you a dialog box or choice. Right-clicking is safer.

    Now run PLATA and select the 'Default Database Builder'.  Select the Export or Import Data tab.  Select 'Import' and 'Model Set'.   The zip file you just downloaded should appear on the pick list under 'Set Name'.  Click on the Area Default Set name for your Forest (for example, R1 Bitterroot).  Now click 'Process'.  You should be presented with the names of some outputs: select 'Sawtimber' and click 'Apply'.  If any messages or warnings come up, select 'yes' to use the latest information.  This update will be available the next time you start a project.  If you want to update a project that has already been defined, you need to go into the project, go to the 'Output Definitions' tab.  Select 'Sawtimber'.  If it does not appear on the list, click 'reset all to default'.  This will necessitate re-entering the saw timber and other output information in your alternatives...  The new model should show up as the selected model under 'Model Name' when 'Sawtimber' is the selected output.  If it does not, select it and click 'Save'.
