Morning Update: Significant progress was made on the East Zone of the Clover Fire yesterday where crews were able to secure the east boundary of the fire. The fire is burning in very steep, rocky terrain at the crest of the Sierra Nevada Range. Fire fighters are concerned about spotting from rolling, burning debris. Crews were able to reach the crest of the fire yesterday on the north boundary of the fire and are near the crest on the south end. Today crews will move over the crest on the north side as the biggest threat of spread is now from the west side of the mountain where the fire is active due to winds on the ridgeline. They will also be focusing in the south in the very upper region of Tunawee Canyon.
Announcements: There will be a public meeting tonight at 6:00 PM at the Olancha School.

Alternate route for PCT thru-hikers follows the road from Kennedy Meadows to Jackass Trailhead, then the Jackass Trail through Broder and Monache Meadows and Olancha Pass trail to the PCT.
