Bishop, CA (June 25, 2008)... Inyo National Forest officials have announced plans for a public reception commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. All new interior exhibits, an interactive touch screen film display, and a brand new exhibit on the research history of the bristlecone pine forest are set to open for the first time on Saturday, July 19th.
In addition to the new exhibits, a dedication plaque will be unveiled, and a research grant will be awarded at the celebration which begins at 11:00 on Saturday, July 19th at the Schulman Grove Visitor Center. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this fun event - live music and snacks will be provided. A light lunch will be available after the ceremony for $5.00.
