Penitentiary Photograph of Andy Bigger, #848
The Colorado State Archives is a primary repository for Colorado
State Penitentiary and Reformatory records. Researchers can find
biographical information about particular inmates, as well as
information about their crime, sentence and parole or pardon. Mug
shots exist for most penitentiary inmates. Since the Colorado State
Archives is also the repository for governors' records, researchers
may also be able to find Executive Pardons and governors'
correspondence concerning corrections matters.
General research may also be done using the various Annual
Reports, Studies, Investigations and other publications available at
the Archives.
Address all inquiries to the Colorado
State Archives. We have search, handling, and copy
fees. Please contact us in order to find out the charges for your
request.
