Who We Are

The purpose is to provide transitional housing to homeless and/
or chemically dependent veterans, some of which have a coinciding mental illness.

  • This organization is a 501(c)(3) Public Charity.
  • This organization is required to file an IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ.
  • Contributions are deductible, as provided by law.

How to Help

Stepping Stones for Veterans is suffering under the weight of normal expenses such as food, electricity, gas, transportation, and building upkeep.  The price of fuel has hurt our ability to take veterans to appointments,
medical care, and employment.  Our mode of transportation is an older Van that currently has 300,000
miles on it.Won't you please consider donating to our organization.  The greatest insult that I can
imagine is to turn away veterans because we don't have adequate funds to assist them.

Additional Comments from the Organization

We supply the clients with a Case Manager(s) and L.M.H.C. You can not warehouse people and hope they become self-sufficient. You must have a program and staff it. With the cut-back in money for programs to teach life skills to the homeless population we must rely more and more on outside grants and donations. Please consider helping.

GOALS AND RESULTS

Accomplishments

  1. United States Senator John McCain made a visit to talk with his fellow comrades and thank them for their service to these United States of America.

  2. Heather French, Miss America 2000 made a visit to Anderson, Indiana and Stepping Stones for Veterans to spread her message, "We are passing over our forgotten heroes."

Self Assessment

Assessments are done weekly within staffing. Changes are made as needed to insure we are meeting our mission. Change is a growing process.
