Utica/Union Reservoirs

These scenic small, twin reservoirs are located off the Spicer Reservoir Road. The setting is more rustic than either Spicer Reservoir or Lake Alpine. No developed recreation facilities exist at either lake; however, the area is popular for day use, dispersed camping and paddle sports such as canoeing and kayaking. A primitive boat launch is available at Union Reservoir. Maximum boat speed is 5 mph. Utica Reservoir is managed for non-motorized boating. Open June to October.

Utica/Union Reservoirs visitors enjoy dispersed camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and horseback riding.

• Spicer Reservoir offers low-speed boating (boat launch available), excellent fishing, and camping at Spicer Campground and Spicer Group Campground.
• Stanislaus River Campground with 25 sites offers fishing on the North Fork Stanislaus River.
• Hiking
• Trailheads at Summit Lake and Elephant Rock Lake provide access to the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness.
• Horseback Riding
