The Central California Consortium (CCC) is an environmental education based program sponsored by the US Forest Service. The focus of the program is to educate the underserved rural communities on natural resources. Currently the program has established Hispanic and Asian components with African-American and Native-American programs being established in the near future.

The CCC program also sponsors a Generation Green Club at Reedley High School. The purpose of the club is to get students involved in the Forest Service and to encourage students to continue their education.

The CCC's goals are to:

  • - Improve literacy rates in grades K-12
  • - Lower dropout rates for grades 8-9
  • - Elevate the percentage of students moving into natural resource careers
  • - Increase enrollment in institutions of higher education
  • - Enhance the quality of participating communities
  • - Provide visible role models and mentors
  • - Encourage organized sharing of resources
  • - Facilitate linkages among K-12 students
