The Stanislaus National Forest is home to a
multitude of lakes and reservoirs, as well as 811
miles of rivers and streams and 18 fish species.
Common species include rainbow, Eastern brook and
German Brown trout, and salmon. The fishing areas
are in a variety of terrain; some easy, some
difficult.
MANAGER'S MESSAGE
Thanks for your interest in fishing the
Stanislaus National Forest and welcome to our
Recreational Fishing Page. We are proud to be the
managers of some of the finest fish habitat and
fishing opportunities in California including
Cherry Lake and such nationally know rivers as the
Tuolumne River. We also have many streams which
support fishing opportunities. Within Forest
streams, rivers and lakes can be found a number of
sport fish including resident rainbow, brown, and
brook trout. It is our plan to continually update
our page with new information and fisheries
restoration projects that we have initiated, so
come back frequently to see what's new! We hope
you enjoy your visit to our page and we encourage
your comments. I hope to see you soon on one of
our streams or lakes.
