The tailings removal site, located in the Pratt Creek floodplain, will then be restored to a stable, naturally functioning stream channel by re-contouring the floodplain and establishing stream stabilization structures. The roads accessing the mine site and those to be used to haul tailings will need some minor clearing, excavation and drainage improvements. An earthen and log dam and a culvert will be removed and used in the restoration work or placed at the repository. Two temporary roads and support structures across wetlands will need to be constructed to access some of the tailings and will be obliterated after the removal is completed. The road accessing the mine site will be restored to the original width upon completion of the contract. This contract has been awarded to Stalnaker Transportation and Construction and work is to be completed during the summer of 2006
