The Forest Service has a wide variety of publications available to the public. It is best to contact the ranger district or area of interest to determine what will be most appropriate for your needs.

The Salmon-Challis National Forest provides travel maps free of charge for the northern (Salmon NF) and southern (Challis NF) parts of the forest. Contact the Salmon-Challis National Forest by phone, (208 756-5100), email (webmaster) or hard copy mail (SCNF, 1206 South Challis St., Salmon, ID 83467) to order your maps.

Purchase Maps: You can purchase the following maps of the Salmon-Challis National Forest through a variety of resources.

To purchase directly from the Salmon-Challis National Forest you can call, email or hard copy mail providing us with payment. Payment can be via personal check or money order to "USDA-FS" for the appropriate amount; or you can use your credit card.

  • This map only covers the northern portion of the forest. A revised visitor map that will cover the entire Salmon-Challis National Forest will be available in the near future.
