Lost River Ranger District
Volunteer
Opportunities
Volunteers make many important contributions to the Lost River Ranger
District and there are many opportunities for volunteers to work on the
district. See
some of the contributions volunteers have made on the district. Volunteer
work gives people an opportunity to actively participate in the management
of their National Forests. For those who are pursuing a career in
natural resource management, volunteer work also provides a way to gain
work experience. When evaluating work experience, many employers,
including the Forest Service, consider volunteer work experience the same
as paid work experience. Some of the volunteer opportunities on
the district include:
- Assisting with fish, wildlife, and range management
- Assisting with campground and trail projects Summarizing and analyzing
data
- Assisting with our Geographic Information System (GIS) Digital imaging
- Assisting with the development of our web page
- Building and refurbishing signs, picnic tables, or other items
Volunteer opportunities are available year round, have time commitments
ranging from a few hours to several months, and require between 1 and
50 people. If you or your group would be interested in volunteering
