As part of Trident II Fire control System and Attack Weapon control System tasking",


The contractor shall define and execute tests to quantify the differences between the Mod 0 and Mod 1 Guidance Systems and perform accelerated life tests on ERNs from the approved vendors.  The contractor shall develop a model and valide this model at Complex 30 or aboard an SSBN.  The contractor shall develop and document Risk Mitigation options to address potential impacts to the FCS.


 


 


Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA.  GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.  See Note 22.*****
