To prioritize proposals for outfitter and guide uses on the Chugach National Forest and to provide efficient and fair service to all proponents:
All proposals for new outfitter and guide services on the Glacier, Cordova and Seward Ranger Districts must be submitted to the appropriate district by the following due dates:
- Summer 2008 outfitter/guide requests are due by the close of business
on February 1, 2008. - Winter 2007/2008 outfitter/guide requests are due by the close of business on September 7, 2007.
Submittal by these due dates does not guarantee a permit will be issued.
We will continue to receive proposals after these dates, however, any proposals received after the due date may not be processed in time for the upcoming operating season.
The Cordova Ranger District is currently conducting a carrying capacity analysis review for eastern Prince William Sound and updating for compliance to the revised Chugach National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan. The district is accepting proposals for all types of permits but will not be processing consumptive Outfitter/Guide proposals such as hunting or fishing guide services until the carrying capacity analysis is completed.
