Proclamation Guidelines
  • Proclamation requests should be sent at least 30 days in advance with drafted wording for the proclamation. A sample proclamation format appears below; proclamation must fit on a single page.
NOTE: It is preferred to receive the request via e-mail at proclamations@state.or.us
Receiving the wording in electronic form will help expedite the process, especially for new
proclamation requests. Otherwise, written requests can be submitted to:

Office of the Governor
900 Court Street NE, Room 254
Salem, OR  97301
  • The Governor's Office reserves the right to approve or decline the production of a proclamation request and to edit any drafted material for final wording.
  • Provide a specific date for the proclamation (day, week, month) and the desired due date for the completed proclamation. Be sure to include sufficient time to receive the hard copy via postal mail.
  • Please provide a contact name, phone number/e-mail address, and mailing address where you would like the final proclamation document sent. Final documents include the signatures of the Governor and Secretary of State and the official State Seal of Oregon.
  • Personal proclamations for individuals will not be accepted.
