East Texas System

The western side of our East Texas System processes and transports natural gas primarily from the Bossier Sands, an area that continues to experience substantial growth in natural gas production. In the first quarter of 2008, we completed pipeline construction of a $635 million expansion and extension of this system to accommodate the strong growth occurring in the Bossier Sands and other regional producing formations. This project, otherwise known as Clarity, connects our East Texas System to multiple downstream pipelines, allowing us to move significant quantities of natural gas from all three of our major systems to key market hubs in Texas. Clarity has a capacity of 700 MMcf/d. We are continuing to develop opportunities for further upstream and downstream expansions.

In addition to expanding our transportation capacity to meet our customers' needs, we have also significantly expanded our treating and processing capacity on the East Texas System with construction of a 200 MMcf/d treating plant and three hydrocarbon dewpoint control facilities with a combined capacity of 550 MMcf/d.

The East Texas System comprises about 3,800 miles of pipe, eight treating plants and seven processing plants. Average daily volumes in 2007 were 1.2 million MMBtu/d.

The East Texas System is owned by Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. Click on "Ownership Map" to the left for detailed pipeline ownership information.
