WASHINGTON, DC�Under its Virtual Data Center Services Contract, the U.S. General Services Administration's Federal Computer Acquisition Center (FEDCAC), awarded a $16.8 million task order to SunGard Computer Systems on behalf of the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

"Our Virtual Data Center contract gives Federal agencies a quick, low-cost way to obtain commercial information processing services," said Ron Decker, FEDCAC's Director. "The contract provides a full range of primary data processing and support services -- hardware and software, system back up, disaster recovery, operations, migration, and acceptance testing. And, it can be used by civilian and military Federal agencies and eligible private concerns that operate data centers dedicated to supporting Federal Government agencies.

The Export-Import Bank task order has a life of 104 months (8 years, 8 months). It will provide the bank with technical support for its mainframe data, insurance, loan guarantee/accounting, and claims applications. The bank's migration to SunGard's virtual data center is scheduled to be completed by June 30, l998.
