Supported Printing Devices

Supported printing devices fall into the three categories listed below.  ISC reserves the right to change these standards from time to time as future technology warrants.

Stand-a-lone Color or B&W devices:

·        Must be connected to only one PC.

·        Must have Windows drivers included in Windows or supplied by vendor.

·        May be single PC combo unit (printer/copier/scanner/fax).

·        Other features and requirements are left up to the departments.

·        Current supported makes include HP DeskJet and OfficeJet series.

Network Color or Black/White printers:

·        Must have internal network connection.

·        Must have Windows and Unix drivers included in OS or supplied by vendor.

·        Must support Auto Sensing and Auto Switching.

·        Must support both IP and IPX  (both NDS and NDPS modes).

·        Must be centrally manageable by HP JetAdmin.

·        Must support HP PCL.

·        May support Postscript and/or HP GL/2 (required for GIS, otherwise optional).

·        May include embedded Web server.

·        Other features and requirements are left up to the departments.

·        Current supported makes: HP LaserJet and DesignJet series.

Network Multi-function (Printing/Scanning/Faxing) Color or B&W devices:

            Printing Requirements:

·        Must have internal network connection.

·        Must have Windows and Unix drivers included in OS or supplied by vendor.

·        Must support Auto Sensing and Auto Switching.

·        Must support both IP and IPX (both NDS and NDPS modes).

·        Must be centrally manageable by HP JetAdmin.

·        Must have internal color ripper (Color only).

·        Must support HP PCL.

·        May support Postscript and/or HP GL/2 (required for GIS, otherwise optional).

·        May include embedded Web server.

·        Other features and requirements are left up to the departments.

·        Current supported makes: Xerox B&W Document Center family. No color units at this time.

Scanning Requirements:

·        Must use SMTP protocol for e-mail image transport.

·        Must use LDAP for e-mail addressing.

·        Currently supported makes: None at this time.

Faxing Requirements:

·        Must by option on printer driver.
