COMMERCE SECRETARY DALEY, SENATORS SARBANES AND MIKULSKI, AND
CONGRESSWOMAN MORELLA JOIN NIST STAFF IN CELEBRATION OF STRONG FY 1998 BUDGET

 

Event: Reporters are invited to attend as NIST Director Ray Kammer and the NIST staff welcome Commerce Secretary William Daley, Senator Paul Sarbanes, Senator Barbara Mikulski and Congresswoman Connie Morella to a celebration marking the successful outcome of NIST's fiscal year 1998 budget process.
Dates: Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997 11 a.m.
Place: Red Auditorium, NIST Headquarters

Agenda: Brief remarks by Director Kammer, Secretary Daley, Senator Sarbanes, Senator Mikulski and Congresswoman Morella will focus on how NIST's programs are helping U.S. industry to boost U.S. economic growth and how this new budget will strengthen that cooperative effort. Special attention will be given to facilities-related developments.

Following the presentations, reporters are welcome to join the Secretary and Congressional guests on a tour of the Advanced Chemical Sciences Laboratory now under construction.
