Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University was established in 1972. Its mission is to understand the evolving issues of an aging society, provide leadership to enhance the lives of older adults, improve the quality of intergenerational relationships, and to meet the needs of an aging society. This mission is accomplished through research, education, and service. Miami University offers both a Master of Gerontological Studies degree and a Ph.D. in Social Gerontology. Degrees are granted through the Department of Sociology and Gerontology. Scripps Gerontology Center provides administrative support to the department’s academic programs.
Scripps Gerontology Center is a research institution dedicated to generating and disseminating multidisciplinary aging related knowledge. The Center develops and publishes research reports on a variety of aging-related topics.
