Description

The HRSA Healthcare Systems Bureau administers the following programs: Division of Facilities and Loans - responsible for administration and management of health facilities mortgage and insurance loans; Division of Transplantation - principal responsibilities include the management of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) contracts, public education to increase organ/tissue donation and technical assistance to organ procurement organizations (OPOs); and The Hill-Burton Free Medical Care Program - Division of Facilities Compliance and Recovery (DFCR) which ensures that obligated facilities provide free or reduced cost medical services to those persons who are uninsured and underinsured and meet eligibility criteria.
