Qin Wu

Theory & Computation

Qin completed his PhD in Chemistry at Duke University in 2004, writing a thesis under the direction of Prof. Weitao Yang probing new approaches to treat exchange and correlation in Density Functional Theory. During his post-doc with Prof. Troy Van Voorhis at MIT, Qin developed new methods to compute electron transfer rates and studied reaction pathways in order to understand novel ruthenium catalysts. With the CFN, Qin will continue research in the catalysis area and initiate research programs directed to understand ligand mediated electron transfer in hybrid nanosystems.

Education:

  • Ph.D. 2004: Theoretical Chemistry, Duke University
  • B.S. 1999: Chemistry, Peking University
