Chang-Yong Nam

Electronic Nanomaterials

Chang-Yong Nam is a Goldhaber Distinguished Fellow at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). His research focuses on developing novel third generation photovoltaic devices utilizing organic-inorganic hybrid nanostructures. In CFN, he established photovoltaic device characterization/fabrication user facility. His previous research involved synthesizing GaN nanowires and studying their electrical transport properties and related device physics for novel optoelectronic device applications.

Dr. Nam earned his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from University of Pennsylvania in 2007 (advisor; Prof. John E. Fischer). He also holds M.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, 2001) and B.E. degree in Metallurgical Engineering (Korea University, 1999). From 2001 to 2002 he was a Commissioned Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and served in the Republic of Korea Army from 1995 to 1997.
