Need A Place To Live? Bernalillo County Wants To Help

The Bernalillo County Housing Department will begin distributing application packets again for its Section 8 Rental Assistance Program starting on Monday, September 29 at 7 a.m. The federally funded Housing and Urban Development program helps eligible Bernalillo County residents secure safe, secure housing by paying part of their rent. To qualify for the program you must:
 
·         Be a family of two or more persons
·         Live alone and be at least 62 years of age or are handicapped or disabled
·         Have been displaced by government action
·         Be single and over the age of 18
·         Have a total family income that is less than the income limits shown below
·         Now live, work or be interested in moving into Bernalillo County

Completed applications packets with all required documentation can be returned to the Bernalillo County Housing Department beginning October 6, 2008, from  7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The Housing Department is located at 1900 Bridge Street SW, Albuquerque, 87105. The application packet will also be available for download at www.bernco.gov starting September 29.
