Mapping, Making and
MODELING MATERIALS

Interference contrast optical image of a surface of a zinc oxide crystal grown by ORNL's Jim Kolopus and Lynn Boatner, taken as part of a nanoscience project involving Boatner and Tulane University researchers (see Leading Nanofab Lab for ORNL). Zinc oxide is one of many materials of interest to ORNL's materials researchers. This issue is specially devoted to ORNL's materials research and future ORNL materials sciences facilities.
