Pravachol (PRA-vuh-KOL)

 A drug that lowers the amount of cholesterol in the blood. It may also make tumor cells more sensitive to anticancer drugs, and is being studied in the treatment of cancer. It is a type of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) and a type of chemosensitizer. Also called pravastatin.
