pemetrexed disodium (pem-eh-TREX-ed dy-SOH-dee-um)

 A drug that is used to treat malignant pleural mesothelioma and advanced non-small cell lung cancer and is being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. It is a type of enzyme inhibitor. Also called Alimta and LY231514.
