Proleukin (pro-LOO-kin)

 A drug used to treat some types of cancer. It is an interleukin-2 (a cytokine normally made by immune cells in the body) that is made in the laboratory. Proleukin increases the activity and growth of white blood cells called T cells and B cells. It is a type of biological response modifier. Also called recombinant human interleukin-2 and aldesleukin.
