Office Research and Evaluation

The Office of Research and Evaluation develops, conducts, directs, and supervises research and evaluation activities through extramural research—which involves outside researchers who often collaborate with criminal justice practitioners—and intramural research, conducted by Office staff. Such research and evaluation cuts across a wide array of distinct topics authorized under the Institute's charter. The Office identifies priority issues and builds knowledge that informs policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and interested members of the public.
