Lassen Volcanic National Park is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Road access in the park is restricted due to snow coverage fall through late spring.  Click here to view the "Current status of the Main Park Road" webpage for more information.

Special Programs
Information and park publications are available, including maps, trail and road guides, field guides, and children's activities. Ranger-led programs, auditorium, exhibits, gift shop.  National Park, Lassen National Park (annual), America the Beautiful (annual), Senior pass, and Access passes are available. (Daily or weekly park passes must be purchased at park Entrance Stations.)

Available Facilities
Restrooms, resturant and first aid. Nearest fuel is in Chester, 30 miles east on Hwy. 36. Other fuel is 41 miles west in Red Bluff.  Fuel available summer only at the Manzanita Lake Camper Store, 30 miles north through the park on Hwy. 89.

Special Programs
The Loomis Museum at Manzanita Lake offers information, exhibits, videos, Ranger-Led programs and publications in the summer months.

Exhibits
B.F. Loomis documented Lassen Peak's most recent eruption cycle and promoted the park's establishment. He photographed the eruptions, explored geologically, and developed an extensive museum collection. Artifacts and photographs of the 1914-1915 eruption are on display in the Loomis Museum. New exhibits feature the original equipment Loomis used to photograph the eruptions and traditional Atsugewi basketry.

Available Facilities
Restrooms, picnic areas, a Ranger Station with first aid facilities, and a public telephone are located nearby. Drinks, food, fuel, and gifts may be purchased at the Manzanita Lake Camper Store at Manzanita Lake Campground.
