Summer Concert at Brookhaven Lab Features Blues & Rock, July 13

Upton, NY — The U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory will hold a “Summer Bash” outdoor concert, featuring local blues and rock groups, on Saturday, July 13, from noon to 6 p.m., on the Laboratory grounds. To be held rain or shine, the free concert is open to the public. All visitors age 15 and over must bring a photo ID to be admitted on the Laboratory site. All concertgoers are advised to bring their own blankets or chairs.

Featured live on stage at the concert will be Sam “Bluzman” Taylor, Blues Hall of Fame inductee; George Bostick, a blues musician who plays electric guitar; Hadicus Road, a classic rock band; and the Muddy River Band, an acoustic rock band. The three latter bands feature musicians who work at other careers at Brookhaven.

The Brookhaven Lab cafeteria will be open from noon to 2:30 p.m. Also, the Whiz Bang Science Show, a stage show that features lively interactive demonstrations of basic scientific principles, will be presented during the afternoon.
