Euclid Quartet in Concert at Brookhaven Lab, May 31

UPTON, NY - The Euclid Quartet, a prize-winning string ensemble, will give a concert at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory on Wednesday, May 31, at noon in Berkner Hall. Sponsored by Brookhaven Science Associates, the company that manages Brookhaven Lab, the concert is free and open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.

Formed in Ohio in 1998, the Euclid Quartet is a multinational group that has been critically acclaimed for its personality and vibrant playing. Winners of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan, they have also captured top prizes at the Carmel, Yellow Springs, and Hugo Kauder competitions. They have performed at many prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, and the Aspen Music Festival.

The quartet is currently in residence at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. The group's highlights for next season include a performance at the Library of Congress and the release of a recording of string quartets by Hugo Kauder.

The program at Brookhaven Lab will include Mozart's String Quartet in B flat, K. 589, and Debussy's String Quartet in G minor, Op. 10.
