Costume Designs Shakespeare's
Twelfth Night
|
In the 1930s, the Federal government, under the auspices of the
Works Progress Administration (WPA), created the Federal Theatre
Project (FTP) to employ out-of-work professionals in all aspects
of the theater. It functioned from 1935 to 1939 and was responsible
for some of the most innovative staging of its time. Theater works
were produced, ranging from vaudeville to the classics. Shown here
are costume designs for Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
