The Organization and its Objectives

The main objective of the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria is to promote economic and trade relations between Austria and the United States of America.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Austria was established in Vienna in 1960 as a non-profit organization. It is independent and nonpolitical, and, as a matter of policy, does not seek or accept government subsidies.

The Chamber is a fully accredited member of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America since 1968 and affiliated to the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce since 1969. Meanwhile, there are AmChams in more than 40 European countries, thus providing an extensive network.

The Chamber promotes and represents the interests of its members in matters of trade and industry; it encourages and facilitates all forms of commerce between the United States and Austria.

AmCham Austria serves as the official spokesman of the Austro-American business community.
