This irresponsibly ignores strong scientific evidence that GE foods can be toxic, can cause allergic reactions, can compromise immune responses, may have lower nutritional value than conventions foods and could cause serious and irreparable damage to the environment. Lack of labeling means that consumer and public health officials have no means to track these possible effects or to tell whether a particular problem might have been caused by GE food. I believe it is critical that the FDA re-evaluate their decision and place the interests of consumers above the convenience and self-interest of companies. The public should be given the right to make their own decisions. Food labeling of GE foods must be done. The FDA is the only safety that the American public has. Please don't abandon your responsibility to us. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. Sincerely, D. M. Jiricek
