FDA Commissioner Dockets Management Branch (HFA 305) Food and Drug Administration 5630 Fisher's Lane, rm. 1061 Rockville, MD 20852 RE: Docket No. 00N-1396, and 00D-1598 Dear FDA, My husband and I are incensed by your proposed new policies on genetically engineered (GE) foods. We do NOT want to be guinea pigs for GE foods when there is considerable evidence of both health and environmental risks associated with the dissemination of GE foods. We want extensive safety testing to be required before GE foods can be distributed for either animal or human consumption, and we want prominent labeling to be mandatory for all GE foods. Thank you for your serious consideration of our opinions and strong wishes.
