Subject: downed animals

I am writing in favor of the farm sanctuary petiton 98P-0151/CP1 to ask that downed animals be prohibited form being sold or slaughtered at stockyards across the country.Downed animals have been shown to suffer greatly when being taken to slaughter,some remaining alive;there is also an increased risk of bacterial contamination including "mad cow disease."
