Rutgers University is committed to ensuring the safety of the entire community. The Division of Public Safety supports that mission by providing safety services to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The Division is responsible for responding to all emergencies, suspicious activities, crimes, security concerns, and parking and transportation challenges. The goal of every member of our police, security, emergency services and parking and transportation departments is to provide for a safe, secure, enjoyable and fulfilling university experience. Public safety employees are proud to be a part of a university team that works with students, staff and neighboring communities to further improve conditions in and around Rutgers University.
The RU Police, Department of Transportation Services and Emergency Services Departments work hand in hand to protect individuals and physical property, respond to daily emergencies and concerns, develop and conduct training and prevention programs and provide for easy and safe travel for students, employees, and community members.
Emergency Management and Central Administrative Services provide the communications, planning, coordination, and oversight of crisis situations and the behind-the-scenes administrative support to ensure that staff services are provided to line units.
I am grateful that you have taken the time to familiarize yourself with our public safety services and information.
