TEE IT UP FOR THE TROOPS is a non-profit organization established by the family and friends of a soldier serving in the U.S. Army. When the father asked what the son needed he responded by asking his father to do something for the soldiers and families of the fallen and disabled back home. TEE IT UP FOR THE TROOPS, INC, was created to help honor that request, and to honor and recognize the needs of all veterans who have served this nation.
The goal since 2005 is to annually make the Friday closest to September 11th a NATIONAL DAY OF GOLF saluting all those who have answered the call to duty. A day to acknowledge and honor the sacrifice of all military veterans and their families.

The 4th Annual National Day of Golf in support of the troops for 2008 will be September 5th.
We have been contacted by a number of golf courses to hold their event on alternative days. We welcome any course that would like to join us to contact us at 952-646-2490.
In order for this to happen we are requesting that all golf courses send out information to promote the day and ask their golfers, on that day, to voluntarily contribute to the fund. A 10% donation over the cost of the green fees would greatly enhance the ongoing programs supporting those in need. Information is available for any golf course who would like to participate at their location on that date or another date that would work best for your club.
In 2005 we raised over $80,000 to be used for Freedom Scholarships awarded to the fallen and disabled members of the US Armed Forces and immediate family.
In 2006 we partnered with "The Wounded Warrior Project" to jointly raise funds for various supported programs. Projects primarily identified to assisting the needs of our veterans and families, impacting on their steps to recovery and a positive influence for their future life. There are no salaries or benefits withheld by the Tee It Up For The Troops, Inc. organization. Proceeds will directly benefit the service members and their families.
In 2007 we again partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project. In addition we also partner with Fisher
House and America Supports You organizations. These organizations continue to assist the troops and
their families.
In 2008 we will partner with the Fisher House Foundation, America Supports You and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
We have received the support of The Club Managers Association of America. Many of these clubs participated with us in 2005, 2006, 2007 and have stepped it up even further for 2008. CMAA presented Tee It Up For The Troops with a donation of $10,000.00 at the 2007 Golf Industry Show in Anaheim California. The Minnesota PGA supports this cause and we hope to have other chapters of the PGA join us in future years.
The needs of these military veterans and their families are only partially being met. It is time we step up and show how proud we are of their courage and service. September 5th of this year is just one day all golfers can step forward and say thank you for our Freedom. We will need your help to ensure the success of this day, through the golfers, media, business, celebrity, military and the American public's participation.

The inaugural event was a success at Mendakota Country Club on Friday September 9th, 2005 in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. Mendakota Country Club has graciously agreed to host the 2008 event in Minnesota.
