Advanced Law Enforcement Photography Training Program (ALEPTP)
The ALEPTP is designed for qualified law enforcement officers, criminal investigators, crime scene technicians, and civilians who have a fundamental understanding of digital photography.
Students will be assisted in achieving a level of proficiency to successfully complete essential crime scene, close-up, investigative, and surveillance photographic assignments.
This proficiency will come as a result of in depth classroom instruction followed by hands on use of various digital cameras, lenses, flash attachments, shooting platforms, night vision equipment, computers, software, and printers in actual field situations.
Upon completion of the exercises, the students will learn how to properly transfer and save the captured images for evidentiary use, enhance images were required utilizing contemporary software products such as Adobe Photoshop®, insert images into case files, and ultimately prepare and print images for court presentation.

Instructors
Instructional personnel in the Advanced Law Enforcement Photography Training Program (ALEPTP) include senior law enforcement instructors with many years of extensive law enforcement photography and crime scene processing experience. All the ALEPTP instructors are well trained and possess a tremendous amount of experience using the latest digital cameras and other photographic equipment. This mix of qualified and experienced instructors comes from such agencies as the United States Park Police (USPP), Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), state, county and local law enforcement agencies.

Prerequisites for Attendance
For acceptance into the program, the applicant must be a full-time law enforcement officer or a full-time permanent employee whose primary duty is investigative photography for a Federal, state, county or local law enforcement agency. The applicant also must possess knowledge of basic digital photography and computers. Partner organization personnel have first priority for selection.
Additional Information
Student capacity is 10.
FIT has the ability to set and modify this course upon a request from an agency who wishes to send 10 students and provides at least three months lead time.
