The Committee advises the Secretary of Education on matters related to accreditation and to the eligibility and certification process for institutions of higher education. The committee includes 15 members appointed by the Secretary who are knowledgeable concerning postsecondary education and training.

This notice explains the criteria for both new applicants and for borrowers who have previously applied for, and received, loan forgiveness under this loan forgiveness program during a prior fiscal year. Under the demonstration program, some child care providers may have a portion of their student loans forgiven for continued work in certain child care facilities each year up to 5 years.
