Online Application for Crime Victims Compensation

Applications for reparations may be filed in person with the Attorney General’s Office, online through this form or by mail. Applicants may represent themselves, or be assisted by attorneys. Attorneys are not permitted to charge applicants for their legal services, but they may make application to the program for compensation of their legal fees at a rate of $60 per hour.

The law provides for payment of an emergency award to qualified claimants who, because of the crime, no longer have access to resources that provide basic necessities. If this applies to you, after your application has been filed, you may call Crime Victims Compensation to request an emergency award.

Please have the following information ready to fill out the online application:

  • The victim's personal information
  • The claimants personal information (if other than the victim)
  • Any medical records from the incident
  • Any information pertaining to the crime
  • The victim's family household income
  • Dependant information
  • Funeral Expense information

This online application has been designed for Internet Explorer versions 4.0 or higher. For your application to be considered active in our system you will also be required to submit an authorization form that will require your signature. If your browser does not meet this specification, or if you do not have a printer, then please call our office at 800-582-2877, and we will send you a Victims of Crime Compensation Application.
