Junior Ranger Program: Available for kids at the Statue of Liberty. This self-guided program gives children an opportunity to learn about one of the world's most famous symbols of freedom. Use the booklet to complete fun activities that teach children about the National Park Service and this site and why this National Monument is important to protect and preserve. The booklet can be obtained at the Liberty Island Information Center or on-line. Recommended for ages 7-12. This program cannot be completed via mail or on-line and is an on-site program only.

Did You Know?
Several agencies have been official caretakers of the Statue of Liberty. Initially, the U.S. Lighthouse Board cared for the Statue as the first electric lighthouse or "aid to navigation" (1886 - 1902), followed by the War Department (1902 - 1933) to the National Park Service (1933 - current).
