Estimating Cost of New Entrant Safety Audits, Roadside Inspections, and Compliance Review

The Agency does not currently have reliable estimates of the costs of these activities, to either the Agency or to the carriers subject to enforcement. FMCSA needs estimates of the cost of its major enforcement activities to help prepare analyses of the effectiveness of these programs, as well as for resources allocation.
