department in Walter Reed and represent a part of the command's response to
changing consumer demands and needs.

Our mission is a simple one. We are focused on
ensuring all patients make a smooth transition through the continuum of care
outlined by their providers. My staff is dedicated to this and our goals of
maintaining the quality care and client satisfaction while seeking the most cost
effective care pathways.

To plan, administer and monitor the smooth delivery of TRICARE benefits across the continuum of care for all Walter Reed Health Care System Clients.

Background

The Department of Health Plan Management was created in
1999 to meet the emerging need for greater oversight and analysis of TRICARE health
plan benefit management within the Direct Care System.
