Remedial Training Program Development and Refinement
Working with the states, AAMVA and the trucking industry, this project would develop, test, and refine the various specialized remedial truck driver training programs, depending on the results of the “Viability of State-Required Remedial Training for High-Risk Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers” project discussed above. This project will also consider the use of simulators based for training and possibly retesting at the DMV based on previous research initiatives. Other technologies, such as computer based training, shall also be explored and considered as a possible training medium. The project will result in remedial training curricula including instructor’s manual(s), study guide(s), and visual aids.
