POPULATION
SERVED: The Career Ladder for IT Professionals program focuses on upgrading the
skills of 169 incumbent worker: 40
Microsoft Systems Engineers, 30 Cisco Professionals, 30 Oracle Professionals,
30 Web Master Developers, and 30 Broadband Cable Professionals; and placing 240
unemployed or underemployed workers on a career ladder toward higher skills
training. The program specifically
targets women and minorities.
BRIEF
DESCRIPTION:
The CLTP project
addresses the shortage of highly skilled technology professions in this region
through a career ladder that enables all levels of participants to access
training and employment based upon their needs.
The program is
designed to motivate and encourage upward mobility through the career ladder to
a highly skilled position in the IT industry.
The CLTP career model provides a comprehensive range of training and
support to candidates. Services are
delivered through a continuum of career counseling, training, internships,
certifications, and employment that clearly depict a career path to a 4 year
degree and certified engineering.
