Description: The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) at NIH has joined Sister to Sister-Everyone Has A Heart, a partnership of local organizations which have identified cardiovascular disease as a preventable, major health problem for women of all ages. Sister to Sister is holding a health fair titled “Woman’s Heart Day” on Friday, February 23 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C.
Author: NHLBI will Webcast four panel presentations from the health fair including Heart Disease Awareness-Because Awareness is the Heart of the Matter, chaired by Dr. Claude Lenfant, NHLBI Director (9:15-10:00 a.m.); Stress-Because Women Have to Do It All, chaired by Dr. Esther Sternberg, National Institute of Mental Health (10:15-11:00 a.m.); Fitness--Because Who Has Time to Exercise?, chaired by actress Lynda Carter and Washington Mystics and Olympic Gold Medalist Nikki McCray (11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.); and Nutrition: It Takes More than Willpower-Healthy Eating on the Run, chaired by Margo Wootan, Center for Science in the Public Interest (1:00-1:45 p.m.).
