Get Started with ENERGY STAR

Provide information about energy saving opportunities and promote continuous energy performance improvement in commercial and industrial facilities through ENERGY STAR's easy to use media and program resources.

  • Display the ENERGY STAR logo on your Web site with a link to the Buildings & Plants Web pages to give your customers access to a wealth of information on continuous improvement, the whole building approach to upgrades, industrial best practices, and other ways to improve energy performance.
  • Publish an article in your organization's newsletter about your partnership with ENERGY STAR and your energy-saving action plan.
  • Write a press release about your partnership with ENERGY STAR and/or opportunities to improve building performance in your region.
  • Get listed on the Directory of Energy Efficiency Programs (the directory).
    • EXAMPLE: The directory will provide end-users with increased access to partner programs for funding and technical resources to support energy efficiency upgrades. This directory will help end-users find your technical assistance and funding programs to support investments in energy efficiency.
  • Use ENERGY STAR's business partner list to access key, sector-specific stakeholders to increase marketing opportunities.
    • EXAMPLE: Many states in the nation have used the ENERGY STAR database to access energy efficiency activity in their state or region. A few examples are Arkansas, states in the Pacific Northwest, and New York.
  • Coordinate an energy saving program for a key building sector in your region.
  • Promote a purchasing and procurement policy to require state entities to consider buying ENERGY STAR qualified products.
