How To Support Your VolcanoCams

How is the VolcanoCam supported?

The Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam is maintained by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

Logo - Northwest Interpretive Association The Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam receives no government funding. In fact, there is no budget at all for the VolcanoCam. We thank our longstanding non-profit partner, the Northwest Interpretive Association for their continuing support for the VolcanoCams, especially our VolcanoCam viewers who support us through the NWIA.

Staff support for the VolcanoCam comes from several of us as time permits. Unfortunately our time is too often quite limited.

What happens if the VolcanoCam breaks down?

For a long time the answer to the question was no more VolcanoCam. However, thanks to generous support from regular VolcanoCam viewers, the Northwest Interpretive Association tells us we have sufficient donated funds to replace the current camera. The Northwest Interpretive Association purchased our current VolcanoCam for us, based upon our recommendations and technical specifications of what we needed. You can always contact the Northwest Interpretive Association if you wish to donate to support the VolcanoCam. All that is asked is that you notify the NWIA that your donation is for the Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam.

Do you have any future plans for additional VolcanoCams?

We would like to install additional Mount St. Helens VolcanoCams, at Johnston Ridge Observatory and and Coldwater Lake Visitor Center.

I might be willing to donate the equipment you need. Who do I contact?

Use our VolcanoCam contact web form.

If I donate equipment, will you say so on the VolcanoCam web site?

The US Government does not endorse any product or service.
